Our Mission: Halisi International Language Institute seeks to inspire and broaden greater cultural understanding across diverse cultures in order to encourage positive acceptance of our differences. Secondly, to educate, share and motivate children, youth and adults on the beauty of the Swahili culture, its essence, and importance in this global village. We do this by providing and supporting artistic, cultural, educational experiences and opportunities. Our aim is to provide a holistic Swahili experience through education and culture.

Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress, comedian, and poet, Anna Mwalagho is a truly remarkable renaissance woman. Anna was born in Nairobi, Kenya where she gained her love for the arts. She moved to the USA in 2000 and discovered that there were a lot of misconceptions as well as interest in African Culture.
Her mother-tongue or native language is what has stood her apart in all her endeavors. As a Swahili instructor and teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience in the USA, her classes are exciting, engaging, informative, and interactive.
As the CEO, her vision is to educate, train, and expand the knowledge of Swahili culture, create job opportunities for Swahili instructors, and create accessibility for learning the language.

Tiffany Thompson is an Instructional Technology Specialist, Microsoft Master Trainer, Online Content Developer, Accessibility & Inclusion Consultant, Workshop Facilitator and Adjunct Instructor. She has over 20 years of experience in education and technology. Tiffany is a local and national conference presenter. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, Master of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Instructional Technology, an Educational Administration certificate and certifications in Microsoft Office applications.
